Mom's Group Christmas Party!

We will be meeting this Wednesday morning for our Christmas Party!  We are doing a gift exchange, so please bring a $5 gift with you.  Please bring a dish to share with the group as well.  I hope to see all of you there!  I know I will be ready to get out of the house after being snowed in this weekend and not wanting to go out in this freezing cold! 

Cancelling Coffee Tonight

We are going to reschedule our coffee night due to all the snow we have gotten.  Everyone stay home and stay safe and warm!

Meeting tomorrow and coffee Thursday!

Just a reminder that we will be meeting tomorrow to discuss Joy and Peace.  So come prepared to share!  We will also be meeting Thursday evening at Cool Beans for coffee.  We have the room reserved for 6:30 until close.  Hope too see you there!

Next weeks topics: Joy & Peace

We will be finishing our study on the fruit of the Spirit by discussing joy & peace next Wednesday, the 8th.  This will be our last study time for the fall semester.  We have our Christmas party on the 15th wrap things up.  So come next week ready to discuss joy and peace!

Faithfulness

Today at group we discussed another fruit of the Spirit: Faithfulness.  My initial question when I started thinking about faithfulness as a fruit is: We must already have faith to be filled with the Spirit, so how is the fruit of faithfulness different, or is it?  Here is what Beth Moore said in her study of the Fruit of the Spirit:

"Faithfulness is believing the reality of a sovereign God.  Keep in mind that the seventh quality of the fruit of the Spirit does not describe the faith through which we are saved  yes, we believe in God and on Christ.  But, beyond believing in Him and on Him, do we simply believe Him?  in the day-to-day demands of living? in the home? in the workplace? in the crisis?  Do we believe who He is and what He says?"  "Faithfulness is resting in His certainty, being persuaded by His honesty, trusting in His reality, being won over by His veracity ... being sure that He's sure and believing He's worth believing."

God is ALWAYS faithful, even when we are not!  Psalm 86:15 "But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness."  He is abounding in faithfulness, more than we can ever hope to have. 

I also encourage you all to read Hebrews 11.  It gives Biblical examples of those who are faithful.  I pray to be like them.  Wouldn't it be great if you were known as being faithful to God!  I pray that the Spirit fills each of us with his fruit of Faithfulness!

Mom's Group Meets Wednesday!

We will be meeting this Wednesday and discussing Faithfulness.  Please come ready to share an example of faithfulness; from the Bible, a book, or from your life.  I also thought that since it is the day before Thanksgiving, if you have a favorite recipe, craft, or anything that you like to do with your family, please bring it with to share!  See you all in a couple days!

Coffee Night in January

I added a coffee night for January.  I know that Mom's group doesn't meet in January, but that doesn't mean we can't meet for a night out and to spend time with one another!  So mark your calendars for January 13th!

Fun Day Shopping!

I am so glad I got to spend some time with Ale, Vicki and Nanette shopping in the Dells!  I had fun looking around at all the stores and finding a few good deals!  We will have to go again, perhaps when it is a little warmer out.  And we will have to plan for a whole day of shopping to make sure we hit all the stores. 
I want to say thanks to Candace for giving us the coupon books, I know I was grateful that I could use a couple of them!

Shopping Trip to Tanger Outlets

Christmas is only 41 days away!  Time to get started with your Christmas shopping! We are planning a shopping trip to Tanger Outlets in the Dells for this Saturday, November 20th.  I am thinking we could go up right after lunch, perhaps meeting at the outlets around 12:30 or 1:00.  Then we have all afternoon to shop and can enjoy dinner together before coming back home.  Please let me know if you are interested in coming and if you would want to car-pool.  Hope to see you there!

Self-Control

As I shared with many of you, self-control is a fruit that I pray for every day!  For those of you who were not able to come that Wednesday here are a few things that we discussed.
Proverbs 25:28 "Like a city whose walls are broken down is a man who lacks self-control."
"Any out-of-control area in our lives, no matter how big or small, is an open invitation to the enemy.  Believe me, he has memorized every strength and weakness in our lives.  He is always on the lookout for that one crumbling section of your protective wall, that one out-of-control area, where he will enter and play havoc in your life.  His weapons are your greatest temptations.  Your wounds are guilt, shame, frustration, and failure; his goal is to hold you captive for as long as possible."  That was taken from Beth Moore's study on the Fruit of the Spirit.
Remember that self-control is a fruit of the Spirit, we need to pray that the Spirit fill our lives and fill us with this fruit.

Cool Beans Tonight!

We plan on meeting at Cool Beans tonight at 6:30 for coffee and knitting!  I hope to see many of you there!  I know I am excited to get away from the house and talk with you ladies!  See you tonight!

Busy Upcoming Week!

We will be meeting on Wednesday, November 10th.  Our topics this week are love and patience.  Once again, I ask that you come with scriptures and stories that you may be willing to share with the group.

On Thursday, November 11th we will be meeting at Cool Beans for some time to chat with one another.  If you would like to learn how to knit, Renee will be there to help you get started and to answer some of your questions.

And we finish off the week with a baby shower for Medea and Marcela on Saturday, November 13th at 10:00am!  Please let Monica or Ale know if you plan on coming!

Mom's Group Meets This Wednesday!

I hope you all can make it this Wednesday!  We will be discussing self-control.  I know this is something that I struggle with and need continued prayer for, definitely something that the Spirit will need to do in me!  So please come prepared to share your scriptures and stories for encouragement!  And also bring ideas of how to show and teach self control to our children!

Game Night on Saturday, October 23rd!

We will be getting together this Saturday for a game night at my house starting at 6:00!  We plan on having a baked potato bar, and then spend some time playing games.  If you have fun games, please bring them with you!  Let me know if you plan on coming, and I look forward to seeing all of you there!

Cool Beans on Thursday Night!

We are scheduled to meet at Cool Beans tomorrow night at 6:30!  Unfortunately, I won't be able to join you.  Nick and I are going to Tennessee for my cousin's wedding.  Sorry I won't be there :(  I hope you all have a wonderful time chatting and enjoy some yummy coffee drinks!  I look forward to seeing you all for our upcoming game night!

Welcome Baby Alexander "Alex" Ethan Fieg!

Congratulation Marcela on a healthy baby boy!  Alex was born on October 10th at 11:02 AM.  He was 5 lbs 14 oz and 18 1/2 inches long!  Please pray for a speedy recovery for Marcela, and pray for a smooth transition home for the whole family.

Family Day at Eplegaarden!

It was a beautiful fall day to go out and pick apples!  Sorry if we missed some of you, next year we will have to  go a little later in the day.  I hope everyone enjoys the apples they picked!  Logan has eaten three today so far!  And we plan on making caramel apples today or tomorrow!  Yum!

Eplegaarden Farms this Saturday!!

The whole family is welcome to come to Eplegaarden Farms in Fitchburg this Saturday!  We will plan on meeting at 10:00 am.  You can pick apples, pick raspberries (if they are still available), go on a hay ride to the pumpkin patch, pet some farm animals, and other activities if you choose to participate for a small fee.  The weather looks like it will be a nice fall day (at least for now!).  Let us know if you plan on coming so we can look for you!  You can get directions on their website:  http://www.eplegaarden.com/directions.html  I am hoping that we can bring a lunch to eat there, but have not heard back from Eplegaarden to make sure this is allowed.  Once I know, I will let you know!  We look forward to seeing all of you there!

Welcome Baby Ryan Bryce Gabrielse!

Congratulations Medea on a healthy baby BOY!  Ryan Bryce was born on September 7th at 10:33AM.  He was 8 lbs. 13 oz.  and 19 3/4 inches long!  Continue to pray for a smooth transition and sleep for the whole family.  Also pray for a quick recovery for Medea.

Family Day at Eplegaarden!

We thought it might be fun for all of our families to get together at Eplegaarden Farms in Fitchburg.  So mark your calendars for Saturday, September 25th!  You can pick your own apples, go on hayrides, and other fun fall activities! More information will come as the day gets closer!

First Meeting of the Fall: Wednesday, Sept. 15th

We finally got a date set!  Our first meeting will be Wednesday, Sept. 15th, starting at 9:40am until 11:30am!  We will continue meeting every other Wednesday.  As Nanette said in the email, we will pick a topic to discuss each week.  Any ideas as to what you would want to discuss are always welcome!  I will post all the dates and topics for the week on here once I know what they are.

Welcome Baby Sean Evan Kocum!

Congratulations Laura on a healthy baby boy!  Sean Evan was born on August 19th at 6:09pm.  He weighed 8lbs 11oz and was 21 inches long.  Please pray for a speedy recovery for Laura, a smooth transition for the family and sleep for all!

Fall Semester Starting Soon!

Hey ladies!  I hope you are all excited to start meeting back up again soon!  I know I will be happy to have some fellowship time with all of you!  It looks like we will be starting back up the second week in September, either on Wednesday or Thursday.  Hopefully we can get the date set soon!  I can't wait to see you all in September!
